Request for bid to host 2009 National Wheelchair Softball Championship

The NWSA is accepting bids to host the 2009 National Wheelchair Softball Championship Tournament.

Hosting the NWST is an excellent opportunity to bring to your community a showcase event of the best wheelchair softball athletes in the world. The host team and sponsoring organizations can effectively promote themselves and create public awareness of their mission and role in the community through the hosting of this event.

The tournament is also effective in increasing general public awareness of the athletic possibilities and abilities of persons with disabilities. Lastly hosting the tournament can have a several hundred thousand dollar positive economic impact to your local community (of particular interest to your local businesses, chamber of commerce, and visitors bureau)

Please contact the NWSA if you have questions about the process to bid to host the tournament or if you have any general questions regarding the tournament.

For more information contact Bruce Froendt President, NWSA.

2009 Adaptive Badminton
World Championships
to be Held in Korea

Nearly 50 countries are expected to participate in the 2005 Badminton world Championships scheduled for September 7 - 12, 2009.

The games are being hosted in Seoul, Korea and are expected to include more than 30 Asian national teams, many of whom are new to the sport.

Although considered primarily a children's recreational activity by most Americans, badminton is extremely popular as a competitive sport in the rest of the world. Badminton is, in fact, a world title and Olympic event.

Competitive badminton played in wheelchair formats for both amputee and spinal injury categories, and in standing formats for AK, BK, and upper limb amputees.
